Buku ini menerangkan berkenaan dengan CNT. Beberapa topik yang dibincangkan adalah introduction, struktur dan symetry, electronic properties of CNT, optical properties, electronic transport, elastic properties, raman scattering, and vibrational properties. Buku ini lebih kepada pengiraan atau fundamental bagi SWNT. Sejarah ringkas, ianya dijumpai secara tidak sengaja oleh Iijima dlm bentuk MWNT pada tahun 1991 dan SWNT 2 tahun selepas itu. Kajian CNT sedang giat dijalankan sama ada dalam theoritical, fundamental physical properties and potential applications. Terdapat beberapa cara penghasilan CNT like laser ablation, high-pressure CO conversion (HiPCO), arc-discharge and etc.
There are a lots of things I need to understand about CNT, and from this book I understand a little bit about how to measure diameter, length and structure of CNT. A few types of symmetry, maybe are circumference, armchair and zig-zag patterns. The values of teta, Q ranging from 0, 30, 60 can give initial ideas what the structure will look like. Brillouin zone is one term that I don’t understand yet.
For overall, this book very good to understand the fundamental of CNT, if we interested to explain details about atom, electron interaction. And of course, it will make you headache, and depressed to understand well. Informations about Raman Spectro is quite good, explain about wavelength, intensity, etc.
